Terminology
OARnet is a part of the Ohio Technology Consortium, a division of the Ohio Department of Higher Education, alongside OhioLINK and the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC), as well as support units Shared Infrastructure (IT services) and Consortia Services (fiscal matters, communications, HR, events and facilities). The consortium delivers world-class technologies, information and expertise to provide Ohioans with a strong foundation for education, workforce development, scientific research and business innovation.
OARnet is our preferred name in all instances. The word should always be stylized with uppercase "OAR" and lowercase "net" with no spaces. OARnet stands for the "Ohio Academic Resources Network," which is no longer in regular use. OARnet should not be paired with a definite article; "the OARnet" is incorrect.
