Ohio experts to speak at Internet2 Fall Member Meeting; Presentations available via live streaming video

 
 

Columbus, Ohio (Nov. 1, 2010) - Leaders of the Ohio Academic Resources Network (OARnet) and its member schools are sharing their valuable expertise with participants at the Internet2 Fall Member Meeting, Nov. 1-4, 2010, in Atlanta. Ohio High School Students Witness the Future

 

Columbus, Ohio - (July 21, 1999) - Tomorrow's world is being experienced today -- at least by 11 Ohio high school students.

These high school students are using technologies most of us never will. And it's all happening during the 1999 Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) Summer Institute: Computing and Networking for the New Millennium. The Institute, which runs July 12-23, immerses freshmen and sophomores in the technologies that are helping to shape the future -- high performance computing and networking.

Ohio pilots Federated Identity for colleges and K-12

Ohio’s research and education network and several colleges and universities in the state are piloting projects to allow K-12 and community college students, faculty and staff to access multiple online resources with the credentials issued by their institution.

The projects are part of a national initiative of the Quilt, a national coalition of advanced regional networks for research and education, and Internet2, an advanced networking consortium led by the research and education community.

Ohio researcher garners $287k DOE grant to devise better techniques for measuring, managing network traffic

 

Columbus, Ohio (October 6, 2009) - The U.S. Department of Energy has awarded $287,000 to the Ohio Supercomputer Center and the Ohio Academic Resources Network to devise new, more effective techniques that will improve the performance of the next generation of computer networks.
